Before 2013 faded into a complete blur, we asked HarderFaster members to look back and tell us who, what, when and where made the year memorable, whether that be for good or bad reasons.
This year’s poll saw a good turnout, and your votes continue to demonstrate their usual wit and wisdom with Josie managing a couple of mentions for festival and kerb appearing in every category.
And as we’ve noticed in our recent annual polls, you all have pretty diverse and eclectic tastes so we’ll continue to award top honours to those who were clearly in the lead and honourable mentions to those who were near the top.
Clubs
HarderFaster Club Night of the Year 2013 Which was the best overall promotion of the year?
Winner: Lost Dawn
Lost Dawn takes the crown again, and after their Carnival Festival last summer we’re not surprised it was a landslide.
Honourable mention goes to Myopia.
HarderFaster After Party of the Year 2013 If the night is just not enough then this is where you'll be, and 2013 finally confirmed the trend - you’d rather be at a crack-on than a formal event when it comes to afters.
Honourable mentions go to Twist, Jaded and Marlowe’s.
HarderFaster Day Party of the Year 2013 Don't fancy a late night? This is the daytime party where it's all happening.
Winner: Lost Dawn presents Carnival
Lost Dawn were clear winners in 2013 with their Carnival mini-festival delivering on all fronts!
HF Xmas party receives an honourable mention, along with Trance Sanctuary.
HarderFaster New Party of the Year 2013
Winner: Brixton Trance Underworld
Brixton Trance Underworld takes top spot in 2013, but last year’s winners Dance:Love:Hub and Astral Circus polled highly so receive honourable mentions.
HarderFaster Festival of the Year 2013 What was your favourite festival of 2013?
Winner: Westfest
Westfest takes top spot as your favourite festival in 2013, with London’s 10th anniversary SW4 and Glastonbury in second place and Standon Calling rating highly.
HarderFaster Venue of the Year 2013 What was your favourite clubbing venue in 2013?
Winner Club 414.
Club 414 lifts the cup again, with Lost Dawn’s new home, Prince of Wales a close second.
HarderFaster New Venue of the Year 2013 What was your favourite new venue in 2013?
Winner: Prince of Wales
The relaunched Brixton Clubhouse takes New Venue of 2013.

John retains his 2012 crown as worldwide favourite.

Slink retains his crown as Member of the Year 2013 but hot on his heels were bear grrrr and Staggo.
HarderFaster Intellectual of the Year 2013 Which HarderFaster member gave you food for thought in 2013?
Winner: Stakker
Stakker continues in his post as HarderFaster’s resident intellectual, although we were a little concerned at some of the other nominations…
HarderFaster Redeemed Member of the Year 2013 Who in your eyes redeemed themselves during the year?
Winner: Donnie
There’s no denying it, Donnie makes HarderFaster more interesting and entertaining, and this award proves he can do it by wit and wisdom alone (or so he says anyway).
HarderFaster Party Animal of the Year 2013 Who was HarderFaster's party animal in 2013?
Winner: Skaramanga
Skaramanga extends his lead, retaining the HarderFaster Party Animal crown and from the massive response he doesn't look like he’s likely to slip any time soon. Threats of settling down are as empty as his bottle of tequila, just go easy on him on Tuesdays.
Honourable mentions to bear grrrr who’s catching up fast (but is probably still a lightweight), and Adam Symbiosis in a close third place.
HarderFaster Smoothest Operator of the Year 2013 Who was HarderFaster's smoothest operator during 2013?
Winner: Donnie
Donnie is crowned HarderFaster’s Mr Smooooth, with 2012 winner Kerb sliding down the greasy pole into second. Can young kerb up his game for next year?
HarderFaster The Dark Side of the Year 2013 Which HarderFaster member did you love to hate in 2013?
Winner: 3radical takes top spot, defeating 2012 Darth Vader Latex Zebra, but newcomer Slink. enters the race with a strong showing in the Dark Side despite his member of the year award so it’s all to play for in 2014.
HarderFaster Flounce of the Year 2013 Who performed the best 3-point flounce in the year?
Joint Winners: Latex Zebra and Quin.
Latex Zebra achieves legendary status, retaining an Honorary Flounce crown several years after the actual event (with perhaps the odd mini flounce thrown in), but there’s a new kid leaving the block in the form of Quin and we felt it was fair to award a joint prize in this category.
HarderFaster Meltdown of the Year 2013 Who threw their toys AND pram out of the nursery window?
Joint Winners: Latex Zebra and 3radical
Chernobyl has nothing on these two. The fallout can be felt far and wide with Mothercare no longer taking orders for replacement toys.
Congratulations to all our worthy winners, and runners up; commiserations to those who didn’t quite make the mark; thanks to all who took time to vote.
