Why Extreme Euphoria is sweet music to Micky Fallout's ears

The Queen has a national one, The England Football team has a few and the charts usually have plenty, so it was about time that Extreme Euphoria decided to get one. Yes that’s right, the hard club that doesn’t do thing by halves is about to get its own anthem, ‘Extreme Euphoria’. DJ/producer Micky Fallout was so impressed by Extreme Euphoria that when he was asked to play decided to do one better and write a tune called exactly that, which will get its first airing at the Spring Ball on 25th March.
The peachy riff-soaked track was written by Micky Fallout and classical musican SQ to create something with the wonderful melodic structure of traditional classical composition overlaid with bassdriven energy. But he hasn’t stopped there as he’s been trapped in the studio putting together a whole selection of hard dance tunes vacuum packed to keep in all the hard trance goodness.
But who is Micky Fallout, I hear some of you ask? Well look no futher as Harderfaster quizzes someone who we are certainly going to hear a lot more from in the future.
Is Micky Fallout your real name?
No, the name came about due to running a hard house night at the Colosseum and Factory called Fallout. Being the promoter I naturally became Micky Fallout.
Describe the type of hard house you play?
I play upfront UK hard trance from producers: — SQ, Technikal, Phil York etc. on labels such as Tidy, Hardtimez, Translation, NEC Live, some white labels and my favourite Impact Recordings.
Micky Fallout at es Paradis, Ibiza
You play hard trance. Although this used to be very popular in the hard house scene, it seems that many clubs are preferring the much harder sounds at the moment. Do you think the trancier brand of hard house is set for a comeback?
I hope so, because for me clubbing is all about having a good time with happy uplifting music. First and foremost as a dj I like nothing more than seeing the mood of the crowd lift during the euphoric breaks and see them go wild when the beat kicks back in.
You have been playing for 10 years and have been playing on the underground for 18 months. Were you just playing at home before then?
No I was playing the underground parties outside London and clubs in my hometown of Basingstoke. I started playing in London when I moved here 2 years ago.
Micky playing at Itaca, Ibiza
What first got you into djing?
The big raves of the early 90s.
You have been busy in the studio recently cooking up some juicy new tracks especially for Extreme Euphoria. What can we expect?
I have been in the studio with a producer and classical musician called SQ and we have tailor made a whole set of tunes for Extreme Euphoria, one of which is called Extreme Euphoria. Two of the tracks are coming out on white labels, the tracks are getting a lot of support from djs such as Kevin Energy, that’s all I can say for now!
You have been working with a classical musician called SQ to help make these tracks. How did his input help make the tracks?
SQ engineers the tunes in general and his knowledge of classical music is a major factor in producing our trademark uplifting riffs and breaks. With my knowledge of djing it’s an exciting combination that is producing the most original and upfront hard trance around.
Do you think trance and hard trance have a lot in common with classical music?
Hard trance is closer to classical music than it first seems. The structure and use of breakdowns and climaxes to a euphoric point have been the basis of nearly all classical pieces and hard trance tracks. A good up to date example is Steve Hill & Technikal’s storming remix of Samuel Barber’s ‘Adagio for Strings’ on VWR recordings.
Is it true you will be giving away some vinyl to lucky people at Extreme Euphoria on the 25th March?
Yes, one of the white label collaborations with SQ I have talked about earlier on in this interview. This will also be played on the night.
Micky Fallout
You’re a regular at EZ Duzzit, which has taken you to play all the biggest clubs in London and internationally to France, Ibiza and Holland. When did u first play for these guys and how did you get involved?
I first went along to EZ Duzzit in August 2004 at Club Supreme, now known as the Factory. I met Dr Duzzit and gave him a cd, it was quite funny really because you don’t usually see the promoter down the front leading the dance floor, we got on like a house on fire and he loved my music and since then has given me regular plays. I also met Lee from Soundz Infected around the same time and his promotion is taking me to Holland, a week after Extreme Euphoria. Other promoters have seen me play at these events and the rest is history. I’d like to take this opportunity to thank Tony Duzzit, Lee Howe and Micky C and all the other promoters that have given me the chance to get my music heard all across London.
With new productions and a brand new website scheduled for later in the year it appears that you’re really going for it this year. What else exciting have you got planned for the year?
Mickyfallout.com should be launched by the middle of March, with mix downloads and all the new tracks. There’s going to be more vinyl releases and more high profile gigs both here and abroad. A live PA is planned for later on in the year, you may even get a taster at Extreme Euphoria.
Thanks to Dr Duzzit and Kerri-Anne for their photography. Not to be reproduced without permission.

There is no better way to wave goodbye to one of the coldest winters on record, and welcome a muchly anticipated spring than with Extreme Euphoria. Slightly out of character for the club that has brought you devastating nights for the past 2 years, this ball will be like no other.
Calling all girls and boys from all walks of life – You are cordially invited to the Fridge on Saturday 25th March where together we’ll raise the roof and celebrate the arrival of Spring with an all star DJ line-up. Leading the way forward is someone who needs absolutely no introduction! He reigned as the King of Hard Dance for more than 5 years. ANDY FARLEY IS BACK doing what he does best! FIERCE HARD HOUSE DELIVERED THE FARLEY WAY. Everyone needs a date on occasions like this and so pairing up with Farley is the lovely LISA PIN-UP. This is Lisa’s first Extreme outing and we’re sure it won’t be her last. With a massive London following, we’re predicting a road block! Also making his debut at Extreme Euphoria is a DJ/producer who’s spent the past 3-4 months dominating dance charts across the world. CARL NICHOLSON is as prolific at the decks as he is in the studio, and we’re treating his set as a showcase. The final two DJs making themselves heard on the main floor are KEVIN ENERGY, who tore the Fridge up on Boxing Day, and MICKY FALLOUT!
Room Two will be hosted by the ever so KINKY U, and with a line-up consisting of the following, you’ve the perfect alternate to the full on Extremeties in the main arena. EMJ & SYKES, LISA LONDON, EGOISTE, TONY DUZZIT, SIMON WILLIAMS, GOLIATH JONES AND DEAD H b2b ANDI RHODES.
We’re sure you’ll agree, Extreme Euphoria’s Spring Ball is a DEFFO on March 25th!
Dress Up, Dress Down, do what you want – But make sure you ALL come with the same thing in mind – TO TAKE THINGS TO THE EXTREME.
