Rob Tissera, the Northern Legend now slams back into London off the back of some ass-shaking, body-popping, 5 star rating, no holds barred Superstar DJ performances! The Happiest man in Dance jumps straight off the plane fresh from his Radio One performance in Ibiza debut to talk to HarderFaster.net about his forthcoming London showdown for his first appearance @ WiLDCHiLD this year! Read on HarderFasters, this one's for you:
Rob, you’re well known for playing hard dance as well as funky house. Can you tell us if you have a favourite out the two, or do you love them both the same?!
I really love playing both for different reasons and i don’t like one more than the other. I love to play hard because it allows me to exorcise all my demons whereas the funky stuff has a way of making me feel a bit more sexed up if u know what i mean!!
As well as playing funky house, you also host your own promotion ‘Kiss Da Funk’. Can you tell us a little about where you’ve taken it this year and what you have planned for the future - and where did the name come from!
Sure. I used to be partners in Funkissential until everything went tits up at Sundissential so when that happened i started Kissdafunk with my good mate glyn tolley. This year has been amazing. Our own venue is mission in Leeds where we regularly entertain crowds of over a thousand of the most glamourous clubbers in the country. We use a very select pool of regular jocks who know our crowd inside out which makes for an electric atmosphere. We all play dirty bass driven funky sex music with a few classic thrown in for good measure.
We’ve just done a boat party and a night at eden in ibiza with garlands. We have our own room at the good greef weekender, we are doing once monthly events at passion in coalville and we are hosting the VIP at Pam’s House’ summerfest. As you can see 2005 promises to be a very big year!

You have your first Wildchild performance of 2004 coming up on 29th August, when they go head to head with passion for ‘The Bucket & Spade Summer Parade. What are you most looking forward to there?
It seems like an eternity since the last time i played so i can’t wait to get up and give it some pasty!! I’ve got to say that the crowd are a dream to play to because i think they like both trance and the banging stuff which suits me perfectly.
Is there one particular track you know the Wildchild crowd are going to go nuts to?
The Charlotte Birch vs Digital Cowboy mix of ‘U Don’t Stop’ by Duke Hazzard - it’s a ripper!!
You recently had a stormer of a track out on tidy two - ‘stay’. Have you been up to anything else in the studio lately and if so, will you be road-testing any new material at Wildchild in august?
I’ve just finished a new track with Guyver called ‘Feel The Drums’ also i’ve done a track with Dark By Design called ‘Revolution’ and I’ve also done a follow up to ‘Stay’ with Vinylgroover and the Redhead called ‘Beautiful Like You’ which I’m really pleased with. I’m currently mixing a new compilation for Nukleuz called Hard Dance Anthems which will include loads of the stuff i’ll be playing at Wildchild.
We’ve heard on the grapevine that there may be some brand new mixes of Quake ‘The Day Will Come’ being released. Is there any truth in this, and if so, can you tell us any more about it?
I’m going to release the mix i did with Rowland and Wright and the 12" will have a new version which Steve Morley and Dave Holmes are working on right now. I can’t wait to hear the result!! It’ll be out at the end of september.

You’ve always been a regular on the ibiza circuit with sets at club greats such as garlands and slinky. Can you tell us what the vibe is like out there this year and when’s the next time you’re jetting off to the white isle?
It’s really cool at the moment. All the clubs are now busy after a slow start and it still makes me excited to be part of it. I’m playing at the Garlands Hat Party @ Kanya 17th august. 2000 people dancin’ on the beach - my kinda party!!
When you’re in ibiza, can you tell us your favourite places to:
Stay? The Garlands apartment.
Eat? Bambhuda grove (mediterasian cuisine)
Drink? The garden of Eden or should that be the garden of evil. Neil and richie who run it always look after me whatever my condition!!
Chill? I don’t chill as i’m too hyper!!
What’s been the highlight of your year so far?
Lashed @ SE1, all the Frantic run events, Hard House Academy, Heat nye, Kissdafunk Easter bank holiday, Global Gathering, The Essential Mix , Radio 1 in Ibiza, the Tidy Weekenders, my tour of Japan the list is endless . . . . So many amazing things keep happening all the time. I’m so happy.
Apart from your ‘kiss da funk’ plans, what do you have up your sleeve for the rest of 2004?
The new mix CD will be out shorlty. I’m working on new material with ingo, bk, guyver as well as writing a few funky bits with deep groove and kujay da da. I’m at Hard House Academy shortly, Creamfields and there’s the grand re-opening of Kissdafunk on Sep 28th after our summer break. I’m also going back out to Australia in dec.
