Well, after a short summer break, WEPLAYMUSIC are back, bigger and better than ever. We\'re pleased to announce that we\'re making the move from Thursdays to Fridays, and to a great new venue, The Brickhouse, in the heart of the buzzing Brick Lane area. The Brickhouse has well-earned reputation as a supper club serving up a winning combination of dinner and cabaret, but it\'s much more than just a stylish bar – after hours the focus shifts to the dancefloor, and the place becomes a proper club complete with a kicking Funktion One sound system and full-on video visuals, in a decadent warehouse style space. Needless to say we\'re psyched about such an awesome venue, and we\'ll be bringing along our own WEPLAYMUSIC VJ to provide a full multimedia experience.
If you don\'t already know, WEPLAYMUSIC are dedicated to seeking out the best underground and cutting edge dance music. Alongside a dash of italo, nu disco, and deep house, we spin techy house and minimally techno, and we like it skippy, bouncing, banging, and full of melody – the sort of music to shamelessly throw
shapes and jump around to.
Joining residents Simon Ledder & Mattie Twentythree on the night will be our very special guests:
XIRCUS - Max Cooper & Jeet
With his turntablist skill behind the decks and ear for the perfect musical ebbs and flows, what could be better than a set by the super talented Max Cooper? How about Max with his partner in crime Jeet, who together are renowned for rocking the dancefloor as residents of Firefly, Nottingham\'s most respected techno night? Previously known as Cirkus, and before that as Thrash Jelly, whatever moniker they choose, we can guarantee that the combination of Max and Jeet will be electric. Infamous for utilising an astonishing six decks, four CDJs, three mixers and effects, you know that you\'re going to get something special from the pair, which is why we\'ve given them an extended three hour set to properly showcase their skills. Musically, you can expect them to take the basic building blocks of techno and twist them into new shapes and in new directions, with an intelligence and inventiveness that\'s second to none, and with an infectious energy that will drive the dancefloor wild. Think scratched up, glitched up, loved up dance music, with warm emotive melodies and chunky minimal rhythms, full of those unforgettable peak time hands-in-the-lasers moments that\'s set to make this a truly unmissable night.
