After a storming 2006, THE GALLERY gets ready for the silly season by reserving some of our biggest line-ups of the year until this hectic time - kicking off on FRIDAY 1ST DECEMBER with an exclusive UK date with the original superstar DJ, PAUL OAKENFOLD. This legendary performer has achieved so much in his career that has spanned over 20 years. From the early years as a hip hop producer in the States, to working with the likes of Happy Mondays, Brittany Murphy, Ice Cube and Pharrel Williams, djing on the Great Wall of China, running his acclaimed label Perfecto Records and scoring Hollywood blockbusters like Swordfish, The Matrix Reloaded and Collateral. These are a just a few of his achievements during this time, and yet there’s plenty more besides – jeez, how long have you got?! Earlier this year Oakey released his second artist album ‘A Lively Mind’ to universal approval, following up the gold selling debut ‘Bunkka’ from 2002. As a DJ Paul continues to inspire and it’s really exciting to have him back at The Gallery for the 3rd time this year, headlining what looks set to be one of the phattest nights of the year!! Joining Oakey on deck duty will be American prog-god STEVE PORTER – who exploded onto the electronic scene with the release of his own debut album ‘Homegrown’. Since then, he’s become a Gallery regular in London and will the perfect DJ to partner Oakenfold this week. Also on the bill is JOHN GRAHAM – another Gallery fave. Still affectionately known for his ‘QUIVVER’ productions, John recently entered the No.69 spot in DJ Mag’s Top newest 100 Poll. The Gallery’s global sensation GAVYN MYTCHEL also plays, with Gallery DJ Comp Winner 2005 CRAIG GUNN warming the floor early doors.
Meanwhile in T2, we’re bracing ourselves for one of the best backroom line-ups of the year courtesy of CURFEW TIME – the sic monthly underground session, brought to life by Welsh warriors KING UNIQUE. Fresh from the release of their ‘Electric Vol 2’ compilation, the KU chaps have made the intimate T2 their home with some storming parties throughout the year. For December’s roadblock, the two Matthew’s have invited the ever-popular PAOLO MOJO into the mix, alongside John Digweed’s tip for the top (and Bedrock resident) NEIL QUIGLEY. Larger than large. This one’s gonna be HUGE I tell thee!!!
