Every Friday Carnival Court is graced by Acid Blues playing what the front liner, Mr James Kibby calls "funkjazzblues" - which it indeed is.
Never a disappointment, Acid Blues retains a regular Friday evening gig at Carnival court and has a rather electic and fabulous following of punters.
The band was formed as the BLUES JOBS in late 2004 by singer, writer, teacher and Veteran of the Cape town acousitc scene, JAMES KIBBY ( Guitar / Vocals ) joined by CHRIS VON WALTER ( Bass / Vocals ) and VIC HIGGINS ( Drums ).
They also feature regular and numerous guests including German Hammond Organ virtuoso ANDREAS WELLMAN, legendary Cape Town jazz singer ERICA LUNDI and DIRTY SKIRTS' bassist, MAURICE PALIAGA. The music is blend on Jazz, Funk and Blues and guarenteed to get any novice bopping along and even break into salsa reputares!
