Background: | Jan Loper / Johnny Walker
Johnny leads a very pro-active life juggling the numerous facets to his career. His day job being a humble postman means getting up at the likes of 5.00am everyday, making his music schedule somewhat different to the average DJ. Music has been the biggest passion in Johnny’s life, he has always felt the need to share that passion with other people which eventually led him to DJing.
In the Last year he has been concentrating on more the production side of music. Fetching to our attention a fantastic EP that has been played by nearly every DJ around the globe.
The most obvious track “I Can’t Stop” was played by Judge Jules on radio one for 25 weeks achieving the trademark “Tried and Tested” on his show. From this artist such as Jules himself and the Space Brothers have asked Johnny to produce remixes for them.
Johnny’s DJ name Jan Loper comes from the Dutch for Johnny Walker. In 2001 Johnny toured Holland playing a host of sets from the prestigious ID & T Radio to Super Club Amsterdam where he warmed up for Armin van Buuren. After this success he was invited to play a further two hour slot on Radio Seven Amsterdam and continued his tour at the Escape parties. Finishing with a monster set on the back of a float on the annual Queens Day Celebrations!
Continuing on with the motorised DJ theme Johnny has been playing on the Gurn.net Classics Camper all summer at Creamfields, Global Gathering and Escape in the Park 2005.
No matter if it's a huge event such as Escape in to the Park, Creamfields, The Queens Day Parade or a regular house party.
''The audience is always my first concern. If the music is great, but if the party isn't happening, something is definitely going wrong. I try to prove that it is possible to create a happy atmosphere with quality music. It is not the easiest way to play, but it I think it’s a good approach”.
