Jaycee de Klerk a.k.a DeeJaycee discovered he had a passion for the harder style of house music when he went to a TRIPOLI TRAX event way back in 1999. A year before that he had started DJ’ing as a hobby, buying the usual house and speed garage tunes. But that night at Wembley stadium changed everything………..
Fast Forward 5 years and Jaycee found himself in the UK on a working holiday. It is here that his passion became obsession. Here he went to every open deck night he could find….even if it meant travelling 3 hours by train to get to an obscure pub in the middle of nowhere. His persistence paid off when he got a 3 hour set at a pub called GEORGE IV, a place where all the after parties for the legendary THE FRIDGE in Brixton were held. From there it progressed and he played a warm up set at THE FRIDGE and went on to play at different venues. He was also part of the “BASEMENT BOYS PRESENT” parties that were held all over London…..All good things had to come to an end though (Visa had expired) and he was forced to return to sunny South Africa.
Today DeeJaycee is a in your face hard house DJ that plays uplifting, vocal, and synth dominated tunes that keep people glued to the dance floor.
His catchphrase “EXPECT THE UNEXPECTED” means just that. Having the ability to remix songs LIVE in his sets, the crowd never know what is around the next corner. One of South-Africa's up and coming hard house talents, DeeJaycee keeps the crowds wanting more and has to be seen to be believed…
